Sat, April 26, 8:00 to 9:30am MDT (8:00 to 9:30am MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Ballroom Level, Mile High Ballroom 4CD

Session Type: Invited Speaker Session

Abstract

This panel addresses the increasing need for mentorship in Critical Quantitative Methods, such as QuantCrit, for graduate students. Bringing together scholars across career stages—senior academics, early career researchers, and graduate students—the session will delve into strategies for conducting critical quantitative research in challenging environments, such as regions where dissertations face increased scrutiny as well as those who have supportive advisors but lack methodological experience. Participants will explore avenues for finding mentorship beyond their institutions, methodologies for embedding critical perspectives without overt labeling, and building supportive networks. This interactive session aims to foster a community of practice, offering attendees actionable insights and connections to navigate the complexities of Critical Quantitative work.
