Session Type: Symposium
This symposium gathers global perspectives on school effectiveness and improvement amid turbulent times, as part of the International Congress for School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI). It addresses the impact of shifting socio-economic climates, constitutional uncertainty, war, forced migration, and value conflicts in a "post-truth" era. These challenges have intensified demands on schools and systems, affecting our understanding of effectiveness and improvement. The session presents empirical and conceptual work from various systems, examining the forms, drivers, and influences on school effectiveness and improvement, and their implications for leadership, governance, policy, and future research and engagement agendas.
