Session Type: Symposium
This two-part symposium explores how public, private, and alternative education models can synergise to address systemic inequalities, promote inclusivity, and foster equitable educational opportunities in diverse contexts. The first session lays the groundwork by examining foundational frameworks, including innovative public-private revenue models, resource allocation strategies, and collaborative approaches. These presentations analyse the structural barriers within current educational systems and propose actionable solutions that leverage partnerships to mitigate disparities.
The second session builds on these foundational insights, transitioning into advanced strategies and alternative approaches that address the challenges of accessibility, sustainability, and equity. Presenters explore themes such as the role of alternative education models, the integration of holistic strategies into formal systems, and the policy implications for long-term change. The session provides a comprehensive roadmap for bridging educational divides by incorporating interdisciplinary perspectives and diverse case studies.
Aligned with AERA’s theme of “Research, Remedy, and Repair,” this symposium highlights the importance of addressing systemic harm, historical inequities, and the interconnection between educational systems and broader societal challenges. Participants will leave with actionable insights and a deeper understanding of how collaborative frameworks can be mobilised to create more just and inclusive educational environments.
