Session Type: Symposium
In our current era, we face a profound educational paradox. Many question traditional schooling's relevance in preparing students for a complex, rapidly changing world, arguing it stifles creativity and fails to address individual needs. Simultaneously, millions still fight for basic access to education as a path out of poverty. This contrast presents both challenges and opportunities. By engaging with this paradox, we may generate insights to guide us toward reimagined learning paradigms that are more equitable, relevant, and humanizing. The Cultural Historical SIG seeks to engage in a dialog among diverse participants to create innovative learning environments and methodologies that could revolutionize education for all, moving beyond simple reforms to conceive entirely new forms of activity.
