Sat, April 26, 11:40am to 1:10pm MDT (11:40am to 1:10pm MDT), The Colorado Convention Center, Floor: Meeting Room Level, Room 207

Session Type: Invited Speaker Session

Abstract

This symposium brings together representatives from national and regional education research associations—currently including contributions from Singapore, Brazil, Spain, and the United States—to share perspectives on emerging research priorities and collaborative possibilities across global contexts.
In a world shaped by the aftershocks of a global pandemic and ongoing socio-political, economic, environmental, and technological shifts, this session invites scholarly reflection and forward-thinking dialogue. Participants will address key trends, challenges, and opportunities from their national or regional vantage points, and explore potential avenues for comparative and international collaboration that can advance shared research agendas and build sustainable global research capacity.
Structured to foster dynamic exchange, the session will feature brief opening remarks from each contributor, followed by moderated discussion, audience engagement, and a synthesis of key takeaways. Rooted in WERA’s commitment to global dialogue, cooperation and social justice, this session aims to chart new directions for education research that are responsive to the complexities of our times.
