Thu, April 9, 9:45 to 11:15am PDT (9:45 to 11:15am PDT), Los Angeles Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Poster Hall - Exhibit Hall A

Abstract

This paper presents a case study from Johns Hopkins University examining how Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and andragogical principles were integrated into a graduate course on technology integration. Focusing on the Technology Enhanced Learning Opportunity (TELO) assignment, the study highlights how students applied UDL frameworks to real-world professional challenges, enhancing accessibility, engagement, and relevance. Feedback from over 200 students across nine offerings reveals deepened understanding of UDL, increased professional confidence, and the creation of equitable learning environments. This model demonstrates how combining UDL and andragogy can empower adult learners and offers a replicable framework for inclusive course design in higher education.
