This reflective practice study examines our experiences as facilitators using animated films as pedagogical tools to create brave spaces for equity-focused dialogues among K-12 teacher leaders and administrators. Guided by critical race media literacy and transformative leadership frameworks, we analyze how films like Zootopia and Elemental helped lower affective barriers to courageous conversations about equity due to their accessible metaphorical representations of bias, privilege, and social justice. Through structured reflective documentation and observational field notes, we explore how strategically selected films created shared experiences that facilitated deeper dialogue, reduced resistance, and supported participants' growth in advancing conversations. This analysis documents innovative approaches to professional development that prepare educators to lead sustainable, equitable change in K-12 settings.
