Wed, April 8, 1:45 to 3:15pm PDT (1:45 to 3:15pm PDT), JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, Floor: Gold Level, Gold 1

Abstract

This study examines the complex dynamics among supervising teachers and university teacher educators. Focused on a collaborative partnership between a university and a secondary school, the research investigates the key factors that strengthen this relationship and contribute to the overall success of initial teacher education (ITE) students. Using data from surveys and interviews, the study explores the experiences and perspectives of supervising teachers, identifying both effective practices and areas requiring further development in workplace learning. By offering practical insights and recommendations, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of how work integrated learning partnerships between higher education institutions and schools can be structured and improved to better support teacher preparation, initial teacher education students and placement outcomes.
