Fri, April 10, 9:45 to 11:15am PDT (9:45 to 11:15am PDT), InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, Floor: 5th Floor, Los Feliz

Abstract

This qualitative case study draws on survey, interview, and observational data to explore conceptual frameworks of data culture in enacted practice. We focus on early efforts to establish data culture and practices in one rural Catholic K-8 elementary school. Our findings provide a nuanced understanding of some of the steps associated with building a data culture, illuminate specific strategies and practical routines that help lay the groundwork for a data culture, and describe some of the challenges leaders and teachers face as they begin this important and shared work.
