This study explores how generative artificial intelligence (GAI), specifically ChatGPT, can enhance school counselors’ use of implementation science (IS) when delivering interventions and programs. Despite their central role in supporting students, school counselors often lack training in IS, which hinders the delivery of effective services. Eighty-four licensed K–12 counselors across 28 states responded to intervention prompts, and ChatGPT generated tailored implementation recommendations. A thematic analysis of these recommendations revealed several themes, including planning and stages, tiered supports, and stakeholder engagement. Findings suggest that ChatGPT offers viable guidance aligned with IS and the ASCA National Model. Implications for school counselor training, responsible AI use, and the integration of IS into practice are discussed to promote more effective and equitable services.
