This study explored media representation of multiculturalism and multilingualism and their potential influences on public opinion, which may impact educational programming. It focused on two important media sources within America, CNN and Fox News, between January 1 and March 13, 2025. An exploratory qualitative research design was employed using hermeneutic content analysis exploring language use and information in news media reports. The study results showed that CNN and Fox News media reports on multiculturalism and multilingualism differed in emotional, ideological, and institutional framing, word choices, language tone, and portrayals. While there was no direct evidence that media reporting changed education policy, the findings suggested that media mirrors and may influence public views on marginalized populations.
