Abstract

The growing interest in and use of the term complexity within the global mixed methods research community warrants attention from the education research community. The evolution of how the concept of complexity had evolved over the last two decades is illustrative is understanding the theory’s transformative potential for positive social change when combined with mixed methods. This paper offers an opportunity to examine how the concept of complexity has evolved within the Journal of Mixed Methods Research and to identify emerging possibilities for advancing the field.
