Thu, April 9, 2:15 to 3:45pm PDT (2:15 to 3:45pm PDT), Los Angeles Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Room 308B

Abstract

This paper inquires the Daoist intellectual healing power through traumatic personal educational and cross-cultural experiences. Grounded in Daoist classic texts Daodejing and Zhuangzi, this narrative inquiry reflects on some traumatic personal experiences through social cultural vicissitudes in China, difficult immigration processes of Chinese women immigrants in Canada, and curriculum development in teacher education classes to shift opposing and conflicting perspectives, attitudes, humanize and recreate holistic selves and others, and therefore heal intellectually.
