Abstract

School climate has been widely recognized as a significant predictor of students’ academic achievement. While much of the existing research focuses on the perspectives of students and educators, parents also play a crucial role in observing, interpreting, and shaping the school environment. Incorporating parents’ perceptions—an often underrepresented stakeholder group—offers a more comprehensive understanding of school climate. This study presents data from five samples of parents (Ntotal=1,030), collected to adapt and validate a measurement scale assessing parental perceptions of school climate. Data were gathered from primary and secondary schools in the provinces of New Brunswick and Quebec (Canada). Results reveal that the scale demonstrates satisfactory psychometric properties and provides strong evidence supporting its construct validity.
