Abstract

This study is part of an ongoing PhD, evaluating transformative effects of Higher Education Culture and Arts Education French Programs through collecting traces of "expériences marquantes" (provisional translation : “transformative aesthetic experiences”) from stakeholders of CAE programs. In this presentation, using research-creation methodology and autoethnobiographical inquiry, I analyze my own artistic and cultural experiences in France to access to these potential transformative aesthetic experiences. Drawing on Dewey's concepts of aesthetic experience and Benjamin's Erlebnis and Erfahrung, my research identifies multiple forms of "expériences marquantes". This approach offers a new perspective for evaluating arts education by linking individuals' past, present, and future through experiential traces, avoiding simplistic cause-effect relationships while capturing the profound values of arts and culture in education.
