This phenomenological study explores the multifaceted experiences of high school participants in a dual enrollment (DE) program. The central question is "What are the perceived benefits of DE and its impact on students' career and professional development?" Informed by social cognitive career theory, analysis of focus group interviews with two cohorts of students identifies key themes of motivation for joining DE based on career interests, interest in the teaching profession, and external influences. Academic skill enhancement bolstered student self-efficacy and confidence in college completion. The program shaped participants’ anticipated career paths, leading to a redirection of professional aspirations and influence on college choices.
