Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how artificial intelligence (AI) policies are interpreted and enacted by faculty and university policymakers in higher education. Focusing on Washington State University, the study explores how these policies influence pedagogical practices, governance structures, and operational readiness. The objective is to identify policy gaps and offer grounded recommendations for responsible, ethical, and inclusive AI integration.
