Abstract

This study provides an overview of research on parent-school relations in the context of digitalization. Although digital technology has spread to all spheres of life, the issue of digitalization in parent-school relations remains a lacuna. We conducted a bibliometric analysis of 271 articles retrieved from the Web of Science and Scopus, spanning all years until March 2025. The results show that parent-school relations in a context of digitalization is a recent and global field. The analysis emphasizes parents’ expanded roles in their involvement/engagement in their children’s learning, parent-school communication, and parents’ mediation between children and school, and issues related to the digital divide. The study brings examples from the most cited articles. The implication for research is discussed.
