Abstract

Undocumented student services provide important sources of support to this unique student population; however, little research has examined to what extent undocumented students access these and other campus resources. Using survey data with 1,277 undocumented students attending California 4-year universities, we conducted a latent profile analysis to examine how they engage with the campus resource ecosystems available to them. Four profiles emerged – Rare Users, Moderate Users of Counseling Service, Moderate Users of Undocumented Student Services, and Undocumented Student Service Seekers. These profiles reveal the heterogeneity of undocumented students’ resource use on college campuses and affirm the significant role played by undocumented student services. Students also engage differently based on individual and campus factors.
