In an educational context of institutional failure, new models of leadership are pushing the boundaries of educational organizations. This paper explores the narratives of seven young, diverse, and passionate leaders starting bold organizations in India that challenge a system of education built on domination. They are creating new educational relationships through structures challenging long-standing institutional norms. Their work exists in liminal spaces between the public and private sector, local and international educational norms, and modern and traditional values. They draw on transnational discourses of equity and innovation while pushing against progressive ideals of social justice in search of practical gains. Through their work, they craft new educational narratives of what it means to be an educational leader.
