Abstract

In their penultimate semester, preservice teachers seeking middle grade English and Social Studies certification were tasked with evaluating state-backed textbooks to unpack bias in secondary sources. Additionally, students were asked to find supplementary digital resources to bolster cultural responsiveness whilst utilizing provided curricular materials. Data was collected and analyzed to uncover the decision-making process of pre-service teachers in the evaluation and utilization of resources.
