Wed, April 8, 9:45 to 11:15am PDT (9:45 to 11:15am PDT), Los Angeles Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Poster Hall - Exhibit Hall A

Abstract

Teacher well-being is crucial for effective teaching and student success. Building on existing research on various drivers influencing teacher well-being, this study employed the Job Demands-Resources model as the framework to explore the relationship between teacher well-being and its antecedents. A meta-analysis synthesized the overall effects of job and personal demands and resources on teacher well-being from different perspectives. The results showed that job resources were positively related to well-being, while job demands were negatively associated. Personal resources also demonstrated a positive relationship, but no significant correlation was found between personal demands and well-being due to limited data. The findings provide a comprehensive understanding of key drivers influencing teachers’ mental health.
