Abstract

In 2015, the United Nations established 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030. In this study, we would like to offer a new holistic way of thinking about SDG4 measurement indicators that consider both quantity and quality of education by borrowing a unique index from the economic fields: the Gini coefficient. The objective of this research is to measure education inequality by the suggested indicator before and after the United Nations declaration in 2015 for the State of Israel as a case study. According to the following variables: gender, ethnicity, and maternal education during the years 2012-2018? Findings reveal inequity is higher among males, minorities, and students for non-educated mothers. Moreover, inequity decreases over the examined years.
