Abstract

Abstract: Based on the digital competency framework of the OECD's Strong Start VII: Empowering Children in the Digital Age report, the empirical study explore the development status of digital competency of early childhood teachers in China. The results revealed that the teacher’s higher-order professional competency needs to be improved; teachers' proficiency in the use of AI technology is a key factor in their level of digital competency development; there is an imbalance in the development of digital competency between public kindergartens and private kindergartens; and the digital construction of kindergartens is a potential factor influencing the development of teachers' digital competency.
