Abstract

The purpose of this autobiographical analysis is to critically examine my evolving identity as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and educator, using currere as a method. I aim not only to critique systemic inequities but to actively resist them through curriculum and embodied presence. To these ends this paper: Critically explores and contextualizes this curriculum moment related to the complex social issues of human nutrition and policy decisions on our society (Gingras et al, 2014); engages in the practice of currere as a method to explore my lived experience as a dietetics educator, reflecting deeply through the regressive, progressive, analytical, and synthetic phases (Pinar, 2023); seek to determine the significance in terms of curriculum practice at this moment for dietetics.
