The objective of this proposal is to discuss our experiences using software to test the polarity and disagreement of single Likert-type items. This procedure has offered a new alternative offering significance tests and effect sizes to be used in a research methods course and in a research methods lab.
The presentation showcases two examples of software implementation and provides practical guidance for faculty considering novel technology integration, in the classroom and in a methods lab. It addresses the critical need to modernize statistics education while maintaining pedagogical rigor and offering concrete solutions for educators seeking to engage students in quantitative methods.
