Abstract

This study employs a scoping review using a BlackCrit framework to answer the research question: what has the relationship between Black education and Black family-school-community engagement in America been throughout history? 13 sources were included in the study based on the pre-defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings include a conceptual framework that illustrates the relationship between Black education and Black family-school-community engagement. This study contributes to the literature by explicitly identifying the relationship between Black family-school-community engagement to Black education throughout history in America.
