The research analyzed the social technologies of Ribeirinhos communities in the Brazilian Amazon, who are traditional peoples (as well as Indigenous and Maroon peoples) living on the banks of rivers and recognized for maintaining their culture and way of life closely linked to the river and the forest. The objective was to analyze the transformations of social technologies that occurred in conjunction with forest devastation and the degree to which these technologies adapted to the challenges posed by climate change. We understand their social technologies as part of the historical memory passed down through generations. The methodology employed a qualitative approach, involving fieldwork in the Ribeirinho community of the Guajará River, in Pará, Brazil.
