Becoming a Narrative Inquiry Student

Wed, April 8, 3:45 to 5:15pm PDT (3:45 to 5:15pm PDT), Los Angeles Convention Center, Floor: Level Two, Room 515A

Abstract

By employing narrative inquiry as a methodological framework, I engaged personal narrative as an autoethnographic tool to express my story of Becoming a narrative inquirer. I employed the concept of ‘Becoming’ as defined by Braidotti (2011) to integrate my experience within the classroom walls and my engagement with human and non-human materials. Indeed, it allowed me to break away from previously traveled paths by redefining myself as a fluid, rather than a static, subject (Guyotte, 2018). This story represents an attempt to offer imaginative possibilities for repair and remedy grounded in human experiences and relationships. By engaging in memoing, reflective writing, and various forms of text, poetry, and visual data, I narratively tell my story of Becoming.
