Despite the increase in participation and the implementation of Title IX, athletic administrators' positions still lack both racial and gender diversity. The lived experiences of Black women are vastly different from those of other groups; thus, race and gender must be considered (Jones & Shorter-Gooden,2003). Although Black women are the fastest-growing and most significant group to receive degrees, companies are hesitant to promote them to senior-level roles (Reynolds-Dobbs, Thomas, & Harrison, 2008). Black female administrators in college athletics are usually the first at their institutions (McDowell & Carter-Francique, 2017). This study employs Critical Podcast Methodology(CPM) to explore the experiences of Black women coaches and administrators at their NCAA institutions.
