Infusing Confucian values into teaching evaluation

Abstract

This proposal examines Confucian values in education and explains why these values are essential to cultivating a critical thinking mindset and celebrating individual achievement– not just for students, but for effective teacher instructors as well. Our proposal looks not only at the value of Confucian values, but where and why education systems have strayed from these values. We carefully examine how Confucian values can directly be inducted into teacher evaluation systems and deconstruct performative components to demonstrate where specifically Confucian values can have the greatest impact in the teaching evaluation process.
