Abstract

The research in this study explores the issues faced by Black children in the American education system as part of the larger problem of disenfranchisement within the Black community. It investigates the ineffectiveness of the current Eurocentric socialization process and assesses the need for alternative training and socialization methods for education professionals working with Black children.
