Abstract

The shifting dynamics in educational policymaking have led to an increase in coalitions, altering governance structures in India and globally. By employing critical discourse analysis, this research study examines the increasing influence of nonstate actors, including corporations, on Indian education policy. It addresses the challenges posed by edu-businesses and transnational entities, emphasizing the importance of global perspectives. Key findings reveal that these coalitions redefine traditional boundaries and embed nonstate actors more deeply in policymaking. This shift from government to governance highlights the growing political influence of corporations and underscores the need for a systematic examination of their legitimacy in public policy.
