Wed, April 8, 11:45am to 1:15pm PDT (11:45am to 1:15pm PDT), JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, Floor: Ground Floor, Gold 2

Abstract

College students increasingly face mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, and depression. Emerging technologies, such as mobile applications, virtual reality, and AI-driven chatbots, support coping strategies; however, a comprehensive understanding of their practical integration and sustained impact remains limited. This scoping review follows PRISMA-ScR guidelines, examines peer-reviewed literature (2015–2025) across databases including PubMed, Scopus, PsycINFO, and IEEE Xplore. Mobile apps, chatbots, and online CBT tools were most studied, while VR and AI mood trackers are emerging. Reported outcomes include reduced anxiety, improved emotional self-regulation, and access to resources. Recurring themes include user engagement and privacy concerns. While these technologies show promise, further research is necessary to address ethical concerns, accessibility, and their long-term effectiveness across diverse student populations.
