Abstract

GenAI holds the potential to transform teaching and learning by facilitating personalized and adaptive learning and providing students with immediate feedback and support. However, its increasing use is also disrupting established educational practices. While the educational potential of GenAI has begun to receive scholarly attention, most existing research focuses on higher education, with relatively few studies examining how GenAI is being integrated into K–12 settings. To address this gap, the present study investigates how K–12 teachers integrate GenAI into their instructional practices. Specifically, it examines the ways in which GenAI is being used in K–12 schools and the levels of GenAI integration through the lens of the SAMR framework (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition).
