Abstract

AI has recently emerged as a promising force in education, fostering students’ knowledge, skills, learning attitudes and interests. However, despite the growing theoretical interest and expanding presence of AI in educational discourse, its practical application for enhancing reading comprehension in primary classrooms remains significantly underexplored. This study explored the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into literacy instruction for enhancing reading comprehension and creative writing in primary education. The results showed statistically significant improvement in reading comprehension scores following the AI-enhanced intervention. In conclusion, the findings highlight AI’s potential to serve as a literacy partner, demonstrating how future-oriented digital teaching practices can transform the way literacy is taught to meet the needs of the next generation of learners.
