Abstract

As the Latinx population grows and spreads across the US, educational leadership plays an increasingly effective role in addressing disparities in outcomes for Latinx Immigrant Students (LIS), who face numerous challenges. As educational research has demonstrated, traditional leadership practices are insufficient to address these unique barriers. The field has evolved from primarily descriptive approaches focused on individual leaders' characteristics to more complex analyses examining the interrelationships between leadership practices, organizational contexts, and student outcomes (Leithwood & Sun, 2018). This study synthesizes previous studies' evidence to:
1)What are the “productive capacities” (cultural assets, funds of knowledge) that many Latinx students possess that can help them overcome those challenges?
2)What are the programs, strategies, and other initiatives that make significant contributions to LIS’s success?
