Abstract

In Ontario, Canada, a group of 100 scholars, community leaders, educators from 7 school districts, and representatives from various unions and professional associations gathered in the formation of a district network, to co-imagine and co-create district futurities. The district network is a place of rehearsal for the revolutionary work that school districts must engage in but may not know how. It is also an example of a community-school-university partnership for activism and racial justice (Author et al., 2024). This case study describes the formation and orientation of the district network and key activities and outcomes in its inaugural year. It offers a blueprint for scholars, district leaders, and community activists interested in movement building for racial justice.
