Abstract

In the digital educational transformation, traditional primary programming education relies on static knowledge transmission, lacking real-time interaction and emotional support. This study develops a desktop VR platform using Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) and MetaHuman, embedded with the uCode Programming—Underwater World curriculum for primary students. The platform integrates generative AI for dynamic content and VR for immersive experiences. Usability was evaluated with 167 students via questionnaires on learning facilitation (M=4.20), ease of use (M=4.05), cognitive load (M=3.90), and positive affect (M=4.15), showing values above neutral with no significant gender or age differences. Findings indicate the platform enhances engagement and adaptation, supporting blended learning and adaptive systems. EdTech implications encompass AI-VR integration frameworks in primary education, promoting equity and extending to learning analytics.
