Abstract

The authors utilized an integrated culturally responsive and transformative leadership framework to analyze school leaders’ actions while serving economically disadvantage students. The key findings indicate that equity-focused, transformative leadership requires a deep understanding of the culture, context, and community. School leaders must actively engage within and outside schools to understand the complexities and the nuances of the communities they serve.
