Becoming unproductive sensemakers

Abstract

This work illustrates how an (un)productive, yet (re)generative, multi-national, digital, posthuman reading group supported trajectories of becoming. Our transgressive data sources include writings, meeting notes, and asynchronous communications, together with affective responses that territorialize events. The findings share the knowing subjects we are becoming: posthuman community members, (un)productive sensemakers, and generative, creative scholars. Each becoming is entangled with others, fruiting bodies of a larger mycelium emerging from our writing, discourse, and intra-actions. The reading group does not produce stable posthuman identities; rather, it facilitates a continual process of becoming. We offer speculative, polyphonic visions of learning amid ecological and political crisis, where reading and writing became resistance, reworlding, and repair.
