AI-facilitated feedback offers potential to enhance instructors’ feedback practices, yet its integration with feedback theory remains underexplored. This study applies the Feedback Triangle Theory to examine how AI supports feedback that is cognitively rich, socially responsive, and structurally manageable. A case study of three instructors, found they revised AI drafts to align with pedagogical values and student needs. Effective AI feedback was specific, connected to student work, socially responsive, and adaptable. Key contributions include a theory-driven framework for designing AI feedback. Findings inform feedback design, instructor support, and the ethical application of AI in education.
