Research in the Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) field greatly impacts programming and the experiences of individuals with intellectual disability. This secondary analysis examined data from a subset of 396 articles from an original scoping review of 498 articles. Researchers aimed to determine if this subset of research that focuses on people with intellectual disability actually centers the lived experiences and perspectives of people with intellectual disability and how. Initial findings show that 95% of the articles directly included students with intellectual disability. Even so, in 40% of the articles students with intellectual disability were the subject of an intervention, highlighting the deficit gaze put on individuals with intellectual disability in research. Implications for future disability-centered IPSE research will be discussed.
