As higher education finds itself mired in a prolonged period of austerity, this paper make the case for investment in service to professional societies as a form of relationship resourced resiliency (RRR). Our approach reveals the novel contributions of such service to institutional priorities by positioning the practice not only within the personal and professional experiences of the authors, but also within the broader ecology of post-pandemic higher education. As such, the study serves to advance research and practice related to faculty service, professional development, and the integration of extra-institutional, high-impact communities of practice.
