Abstract

The current study examined teachers’ perceptions of restorative practices implementation in K–12 public schools using a researcher-developed, 50-item Likert scale survey. One hundred sixty five K-12 teachers from southern California who are currently using restorative practices participated in this study. Exploratory factor analysis identified six constructs: Teacher Practices, Equitable Access, Relationships, Conflict Resolution, Repairing Relationships, and Community. Regression analysis revealed that Teacher Practices consistently predicted successful implementation across domains, particularly for conflict resolution and equity. Experience and income positively influenced perceptions, while gender and ethnicity also shaped responses. Findings support the instrument’s reliability and validity, highlighting the centrality of teacher engagement and systemic equity. The study offers a framework for measuring, supporting, and improving restorative practice implementation.
