Psychometric Properties of the Adolescent and Adult Time Inventory–Turkish: Evidence From Gifted and Talented Adolescents

Abstract

This study examined the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the Adolescent and Adult Time Inventory (AATI) among gifted and talented adolescents (N = 194). The AATI assesses multiple dimensions of time perspective, including attitudes, frequency, relation, and orientation. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the six-factor structure of the Time Attitudes Scale (TAS), and internal consistency values were strong (α = .79–.91), improving on previous Turkish adaptations. Convergent validity was established through associations with psychosocial constructs such as hope, depressive symptoms, identity exploration, and well-being. Findings highlight the utility of AATI–Turkish for research and practice with Turkish-speaking adolescents and support its cross-cultural relevance as a screening tool in educational and psychological contexts.
