From Knowledge to Values: Embedded Values and Ethics Education Pedagogy—An AI-Assisted Meta-Analysis

Abstract

This meta-analysis examines embedded ethics education (EVEE) in AI-enhanced learning through 38 studies (2010-2024). Results show moderate overall effectiveness (d=0.39), with STEM (d=0.47) surpassing humanities (d=0.34), universities (d=0.45) exceeding K-12 (d=0.31), and facilitated discussions (d=0.52) outperforming lectures (d=0.28). The study addresses three gaps: (1) systematizing EVEE evidence, (2) comparing disciplinary outcomes, and (3) guiding teacher transitions to ethical mentoring. Findings support contextually embedded ethics instruction, dialogic approaches, and institutional collaboration. The research redefines priorities for developing ethical resilience in AI-driven education.
