Educator Development Research-Practice Partnerships: Developing a Measurement Tool for Collective Learning, Investigation, and Liberation

Wed, April 8, 3:45 to 5:15pm PDT (3:45 to 5:15pm PDT), JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, Floor: Gold Level, Gold 1

Abstract

At a sociopolitical moment in education policy where the education systems and structures we have come to know and rely on are being dismantled and reconfigured (Scott, 2025), we posit that research-practice partnerships can be a potential vehicle for collective learning, investigation, and liberation that support educator development. As such, our paper describes the creation of an educator development research-practice partnership (ED RPP) measurement tool. We outline a conceptual basis for creating the tool to: (a) delineate the core technical components of a humanizing ED RPP and (b) describe potential adaptations and challenges for using the tool across diverse contexts.
