Abstract

This study examined whether and to what extent demographic and institutional background variables predict various forms of capital (human, social, and cultural) and career aspirations (leadership, educational, and achievement) among California Community College (CCC) classified professionals. Using data from a self-developed survey (N = 322), multiple linear regression was conducted. Significant demographic and institutional predictors were found across capital and aspiration domains. Findings highlight how inequities in access to capital may influence professional trajectories, and implications are offered for institutional practices that support classified staff development.
