Sun, April 12, 7:45 to 9:15am PDT (7:45 to 9:15am PDT), JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. LIVE, Floor: Ground Floor, Gold 2

Abstract

In June 2025, Inclusive Voices in Action was established as an educational video podcast and advocacy initiative to promote disability rights and inclusion in Mozambique. Grounded in Disability Studies in Education, Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy, and Critical Pedagogy, this qualitative, community-engaged case study integrates participatory media methods, autoethnographic reflection, and thematic content analysis. The project uses podcasts, webinars, and digital outreach supported by bilingual and sign language interpretation to engage youth, families, educators, and policymakers in dialogue. Data sources include recorded episodes, audience engagement, and accessibility materials. The results highlight how participatory and multilingual media can challenge deficit narratives, preserve local knowledge, and influence inclusive policies by being a culturally relevant and accessible method to disseminate research in the Global South.
